General Job Description:

Weigel Broadcasting is a multi-platform media company with a remarkably creative, loyal and entrepreneurial team. The digital team is seeking a web designer to assist us in the creation of online sites and apps, as well as the production of digital graphics, social media images and the growth of existing national and local television websites. This is a rare opportunity for a designer to be part of a growing digital team that reaches millions of loyal fans each month. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design and a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced team environment. The candidate will have an interest in entertainment, pop-culture and news, and can show recent and living examples of their work.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The creation of full website and app templates with adherence to existing brand standards.

The creation of supporting graphics for web-based marketing and promotional needs.

Create original graphics for articles, social media posts, sweepstakes and products.

The continued graphical maintenance of all web properties to keep in line with modern standards

Create web graphics for national and local tv brands that are engaging, elegant and positive.

Join a team of designers, developers and editors that transform ideas into execution.

Manage and coordinate workflow for digital design team.

Design captivating graphics for the online execution of articles, games, contesting and newsletters.

Transform and elevate pre-made designs from graphics and found images.

Collaborate across departments, including the graphics, marketing, advertising and content programming teams.

Other duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

Expert level skill with key products in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).

Experiencing designing complete websites.

Understanding of the differences between web design and design for other media.

Knowledge of responsive design.

Appreciation for UX tailored to a demographic set.

No HTML or CSS experience is required or necessary. This position is strictly design. But an understanding of how those technologies might limit or affect design is welcome.
