Executive Producer

General Job Description:

ABC57 News in South Bend, Indiana seeks an Executive Producer to add to our growing team.  The successful candidate must be committed to winning breaking and overnight news and win our weather coverage on all platforms.  They also must be committed to mentoring staff of producers and to winning the ratings.  We are looking for a motivator who’s a great show director who can lead our team of producers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Responsible for evaluating stories; organizing them into a cohesive sequence within a newscast or digital content for the web.

Inspire creativity, foster a cooperative environment and mentor a team.

Manage workflows, searching for economies in speed, efficiency, and quality.

Executes content on all platforms.

Manage newsroom, contribute to the editorial process and make solid decisions in breaking news situations.

Other duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, TV/Film or the equivalent

At least 5 years’ experience in television or radio broadcast/production

A creative thinker with a proven track record

Must be able to interact well with video journalists, anchors, videographers, news managers, production and engineering staff

Line producing experience required

Experience with Avid iNews

Strong news judgment and leadership skills

Great organizational skills
